How to use your Business Email — no Gmail/Yahoo signup needed

Your info@yourdomain.com is hosted on our VPS (mail.amemis.com — Postfix/Dovecot), not Google. routes/email-providers.js:859 virtual_users. You do NOT create it in Gmail.

How to check mail
  1. Phone/PC app (recommended): Outlook / Thunderbird / Apple Mail / phone Mail → Add account → Other/IMAP.
    IMAP: mail.amemis.com:993 SSL · SMTP: mail.amemis.com:465 SSL (or 587 STARTTLS)
    User = full email (info@yourdomain.com), Pass = mailbox password you set (reset via below).
  2. Webmail: install Roundcube on VPS → browse https://mail.amemis.com/roundcube (same IMAP creds).
  3. Optional Gmail view: Gmail → Settings → Accounts → Check mail from other accounts (POP3) → add same IMAP creds, or use Domain Settings → Email Forwarding to forward you@domain → you@gmail.com. No new Gmail address is created for the domain.
How to use bought email — step by step
  1. Buy: Business Email → pick Basic 3/1GB $2.99 or Business 5/5GB $4.99 → fill 3/5 rows (e.g. info, sales @ your domain) → Add to Cart → Pay (routes/payment.js:374 auto-publishes MX/SPF/DMARC if domain bought on Subilex, so no manual DNS).
  2. If external domain (Namecheap/GoDaddy): one-time TXT _subilex-verify → Verify Now (above) → then add 3 records at registrar: MX @→mail.amemis.com prio10, TXT @→v=spf1 mx a ip4:204.168.174.49 ~all, TXT _dmarc (values from mailDnsRecords routes/email-providers.js:189). Subilex domains skip this — auto.
  3. Open mail: click Webmail in table below → email-providers-webmail.html → login info@yourdomain.com + password you set (reset via or Forgot). No Gmail signup needed. Or phone/PC: IMAP mail.amemis.com:993 SSL · SMTP :465.
  4. Test Gmail → you: send from you@gmail.com → info@yourdomain.com → Refresh Inbox. Check dig MX yourdomain.com returns mail.amemis.com. Mail lives in mail_server.virtual_users on VPS (mail-api-list yourdomain.com).
Saw “Mail server not ready (mail_server DB missing)”? MySQL not running on that host. On VPS: ssh root@204.168.174.49 && bash mail-server/setup-virtual.sh amemis.com (creates DB, postfix/dovecot, pass in /root/mail-db-pass.txt → put in Subilex/.env MAIL_DB_PASS then docker compose build && docker compose up -d). On localhost for testing: set SELF_HOSTED_MAIL=false in .env and restart npm start — login will use Mongo testing mode.
